Asus motherboard safe mode windows 8

The switch on the top of the card is in the backward position toward the power connectors and it shows U3 BIOS. If all benchmarks are running fine, then the card itself is good - then perhaps the drivers are not playing nicely My only intent with the benchmarks is to see if they're running without artifacts OK, I'm curious because I've read somewhere version 3 is coming out soon.

So I wonder if it also influences bench results. See screenshot below. It looks to me as monitors sometimes turnes on in different order when card is starting in safe mode. The issue can only affect fastboot enabled setups, but I'm not sure. Do you have an integrated gpu on your motherboard? Is there a reason U R using U3 instead of U2 bios? Going back to the artifacts. I've been playing Battlefield4 lately.

I can run it in max quality, resolution x with a single card!!! But sometimes after a while it's artifacting. One more question. I'm using the U3 because that's what I have now This morning I re-mounted the factory cooler on my second Matrix Plat and tried it too - works perfectly as the first one does..

Oh my god I am having this problem again Maybe a fresh install of windows will fix this? Can U try something for me? Try rising the BCLK by 0. Also bump cpu offset voltage by 0. After that recover your GPU. Switch off the PC. Wait something like 30 minutes and try to switch it on. Please post your results afterwards Its already midnight and my daughter needs to be tucked in bed : I will report it from time to time. Okay i try the method a moment ago. But still no luck. Still flashing green led.

I guess i'll try the formating and reinstalling fresh windows. Does the card work like normal or does the safe mode indication break it in some way? Strangely the card works normal even it is in the safe mode.

The thing is, when it flashing green led color its annoying for me to see. I'd say there's something wrong with the led thingy. You can unplug it if you want to, can be done without taking the card apart. I don't think it's the LED. What I've discovered yesterday: The behaviour of LED indicator is random I think more connected to changing anything in bios then changing specific setting but there is one sequence I can repeat.

I clear CMOS with button on the back of the motherboard. I then load optimized settings and reboot. Next switch off puts GPU again into safe mode. I'm on optimized settings so it should be good. The only setting that changes from optimized settings are the boot devices and the first one is my Windows Boot Manager on my SSD.

It was automaticaly set by the bios. I still think the issue is somehow connected to UEFI boot I've never installed system in a "normal" way. Still it should be UEFI compatible so what's going on Don't worry about doing things the normal way, no one here does things the normal way .

Going back to unplugging the led indicator. You can unplug it but still GPU Tweak will ask you to recover the gpu. If asus guaranteed uefi working for my mobo and vga - I want it working!! Otherwise I would maybe buy some older mobo :P so more or less win8. Strange thing happen I reset bios to optimized default F5 and also turn off the XMP thingy..

It works.. Perhaps i'll try again switching this pc off for 1 hour and see what happen.. Will be back in 1 hour to report,.. Try downclocking mem as low as you can perhaps?

Oh you're running the UEFI bios on the card? I'm not going anywhere near that since you can't go back if you do. I've never experienced that behavior with gpu tweak. Wonder if it can be PSU related? Hiviz, we need help here :. You can kind of "go back" as the uefi vbios is used only if first boot device on the list is uefi.

I think I should install win7x64 in non uefi mode. Then check if card is still going crazy when first boot device is not uefi. What is UEFI bios?

It's a standard in nowaday mobos, and you can think of it as a bios successor. It contains many new revolutionary features that normal bios can't do like fastboot which is the case here. In result some devices also need the special uefi "bioses" to use fastboot. It's a piece of software that controls the hardware before OS is initialized and handshakes with OS drivers are made. You can also use CSM which allow you boot to efi partition without having uefi compatible devices having only legacy bioses.

CSM should be turned off to take full advantage of win8 fastboot. In terms of VGA bios. Thanks for the explanation.. Oh about my post earlier.. XMP thing.. It doesnt work false theory.. A moment ago when i turn on my pc, the matrix flashing green again.. I set my bios back into XMP again, and then i realize that on matrix, it has a switch right? I tried switching the little switch towards the crossfire slot.. Another report will be 1 hour from now.. Yes, the bios switch it is.

Mine also goes blue sometimes when I switch the bios, but it's only temporary :. Actually I want one or maybe two but I still want to keep that fancy led indicator ;]]]].

Good news.. The gpu tweak is normal again after switching the little switch towards crossfire slot. So I guess the problem is from "bios" on the second switch. That's the conclusion so far i think. Can you give me your vbios? The one that is now selected with the switch. You can save it to file with techpowerup GPU-Z. I'll check if it also works for my radeon.

All is good but when the windows animation is done all I get is a black screen. No BSOD no nothing. Both cards work fine and it has always worked before, hmm.

Wait, first check if both cards are using same bios. If switch is in same position on both cards Thanks for the bios, I'll check it home after work. Can I use the bios for non Platinum edition? Oh and one more thing..

How to share those bios? Already found the tutorial and also the list of rom drivers from there.. I've wrote You PM answering your question. What do you mean flashing into default? Where did you get the default bios? Reply back sir!!! Got the bios from techpowerup. Because i thought the link above is for matrix platinum edition and mine isn't one,so i google it and found the one for non platinum edition.

Being that I can't log in, and I do not have a second admin account, I cannot use the msconfig method. I've already tried hitting F8 during start and it just gives me the option to either boot my HD or enter bios. I also went through the bios options and didn't see anything there either. There's got to be another method than the two I've previously mentioned, right? Or am I just missing something simple here? What needs to be done is use the F8 to get the menu, select the hard disk or boot manager if EFI and then start hitting F8 after you press enter on the boot device.

This is the easiest way I've found, as trying to guess when the boot is handed off from the board to Windows is hit and miss.

I am glad the issue has been resolved by yourself and thanks for sharing the troubleshooting experience here. It will be very useful for the people who will come across the similar symptom in the future.

Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. Run "msconfig" in windows and select safe mode under the boot options. Then when you restart you'll start in safe mode. To return to the desktop, just run msconfig again and uncheck that option while in safe mode and reboot. Works like a charm. I found, as the previous poster did, that it goes with much less frustration if you boot normally, then run msconfig and set SafeMode there, then restart I have tied and for the life of me cannot hit the F8 button at the right time.

Like the suggestion of msconfig Only the suggestion to use msconfig Hizman I cannot seem to hit the F8 key at the right time Hope I never have to boot into Safe Mode to fix a problem with Windows Press F7 will take you to screen asking if you want to load windows, press F8 and you will load safe mode, no secret.

Press F7 will take you to screen asking if you want to load windows, press F8 and you will load safe mode, no secret Indeed unless his keyboard is not being picked up until in OS Press F7 will take you to screen asking if you want to load windows, press F8 and you will load safe mode, no secret First I've heard of this.
