She creates the needed environment for our students to actively engage in their own development and helps them learn from their achievements and mistakes. In this process our young fencers engage in critical thinking, develop resilience, build confidence, and take responsibility for their actions as well as take pride in their accomplishments.
As IFC's ultimate goal is to see our students become successful in life, Ina's athlete-centered approach allows her students to actively participate in the decision making process of their own development as well as to influence the overall direction of the IFC Youth Program.
As a result, our students learn to make informed choices and transform into leaders inspiring others. Ina has coached fencing for 16 years in the U. Ina also coaches some of our older members who enjoy success at local and national levels. A scientist by formal education, he brings an analytical and systematic approach to training athletes, while maintaining an athlete-centered philosophy that promotes development of the whole person.
In his off time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling, reading good books, and watching science-fiction TV shows and movies.

The intrigue of the sport of fencing has drawn her to compete and coach fencing at the Atlantic Fencing Academy. She has worked with all levels of ability and ages including youths, juniors, and adults who have gone on to compete as well as those who are primarily interested in sport for recreation and fitness. Mary played a pivotal role in starting the fencing program at Christian Brothers Academy, where she is the head coach of the varsity fencing team now.

This program is supervised by the Certification and Accreditation Board, consisting of Fencing Masters elected by other member Fencing Masters. The USFCA certification program provides the fencing coach or teacher a measurement of his or her knowledge and ability through an examination process and certification program.
